Rocky Mountaineer

First Passage to the West

Travelling onboard the Rocky Mountaineer is an unforgettable experience, considered by many to be a trip of a lifetime. The First Passage to the West route takes guests between the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver, and the Rocky Mountain resort town of Banff, Alberta. This two-day rail journey recaptures the romance of rail travel as it follows the historic train routes constructed over 125 years ago that united the country from coast to coast. On this all daylight train ride guests will enjoy every minute of the breathtaking scenery, including glacier-fed lakes, majestic mountain ranges and rushing rivers.

The Rocky Mountaineer train departs for its First Passage to the West route three times per week (eastbound and westbound) during its season from the end of April until the beginning of October, and offers two choices of service: RedLeaf Service and GoldLeaf Service.
