Eat, Learn, Drink with Cornucopia!

Whistler’s Cornucopia, true to its title,  is a festival of pure abundance: 11 days of food, wine, wellness and fun, this iconic fall event is as indulgent as it is eclectic. Celebrate world class food and drink in one of the most beautiful places on earth, surrounded by Whistler’s majestic peaks. Practice yoga and meditation during health and wellness sessions, get dressed up and go out on the town for wine tastings and dinner parties, and learn from the best while attending seminars with critiques and winemakers.

The list of events is long, so here is a taste of some of the best this festival has to offer:

High Roller Party at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler

When: Thursday, Nov 5, 2015 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Where: Whistler Conference Centre

Kick things off with the annual House Party, with live musicians, local food and domestic wines, spirits and beers. Enjoy homemade vodka, microbrew beer and some BBQ favourites, all from BC’s generous backyard. You don’t want to miss this fantastic Cornucopia event, which gives you a taste of what the following week will bring.

Enjoy a delicious selection of luxury wines and champagnes at this tasting Cornucopia event. Swirl, sniff, sip and let yourself into the world of top-shelf delights. You can browse the different wineries and immerse yourself in this amazing winery culture. There is something for every pallet at this indulgent wine tasting event!


Nourish: Yoga at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler

When: Sunday, Nov 8, 2015 8:00am – 9:15am
Where: Yama Yoga

Feel calm and stretch yourself during this daily yoga practice. Through mindfulness, movement and focused breathing, you will allow yourself to feel connected. After this hour and 15 minute practice with Janet Corvino, you will leave feeling relaxed, revitalized and grounded. Namaste, indeed!

Everyone knows when wine and chocolate are paired, they form an undeniable, alluring combination. At this event, you will learn to pair the two with skill, and perhaps acquire a new guilty pleasure (if wine and chocolate aren’t already on your guilty pleasure list, of course). Hosted by wine experts DJ Kearney and Mark Pennington and sales manager for France’s oldest chocolate company, Cacao Barry, you will get to sample some of the finest wines and chocolates you’ve perhaps ever had the chance to savour.


Araxi Big Guns Dinner

Experience the nuances of cool climate wines, which can be remarkably different from hot-weather wines. This seminar will focus on how geography and climate influence wines and produce ones that compliment food in exceptional ways. Sample wines from cooler climates and expand your pallet for these delicious drinks.

Come to be swept away into the awe-inspiring world of circus performances and mystical theatrics. You’ll be on the edge of your seat as you watch performers fly through the air doing unthinkable feats of hooping, aerial pole, contortion and illusion. You’ll also have the pleasure of watching International recording artist Beats Antique perform live at Cornucopia alongside a list of other fantastic performers. Come to join the fun and experience this visually stunning and creative event, renowned for its outlandish allure.

Say goodbye to Cornucopia and join the feast to welcome Ullr, our praised snow god, back to town! This themed dinner is a lively send off, a fusion between the seven kingdoms and a white winter in Whistler. Interpret the theme as you see fit, and come in costume as there are prizes for best dressed. Whether you decide to slay dragons or slay powder, you’ll enjoy the medieval brews and hearty treats this dinner party boasts.
