With impeccably manicured greens, and challenging par 3s, the Nicklaus North Golf Course – named for designer Jack Nicklaus – is a stunning course that will challenge even the best of players. Jack Nicklaus designed this course to be as unique as himself: a par 71, 18-hole course with a stunning view, and almost 7,000 yards of playable course. Opening in May, the golf course has played host to several events such as the Skins Games and the Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf, which attracted such famous golfers as Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, and Steven Ames.
Tucked away in the slopes of the Coast Range Mountains, the Fairmont Whistler Chateau Golf Club overlooks the rugged landscapes and exposed rock faces of the surrounding mountains, while providing some of the most exciting and challenging golf in Canada. Rated “Best Resort Course in Canada” and the “Best New Golf Course” amongst other awards, Fairmont Whistler opens its greens on April 29th. Traversing creeks and ponds, ancient Douglas fir stands and granite rock, the course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. is a par 72 and covers over 6,600 yards of playable area. This is a course not to miss.
Another place to keep your game on par is the Whistler Golf Club. The first golf course in Canada to be designed by the famous Arnold Palmer in 1993, the 72 par course offers phenomenal vistas of surrounding mountains, as well as a fun and challenging course to test your game. The course is over 6600 yards and has won such awards as the “Silver Medal for Service”, and “Top 100 Golf Courses” over the years. With a $2.2 million facelift in 2000, we promise this will be a course you will not easily forget.
Located a half-hour north of Whistler in the rural community of Pemberton, tucked up against the base of massive Mt. Currie. Designed by Robert Cupp, this par 71-course was ranked the #1 public access course in BC and one of the Top 30 courses in all of Canada. It’s a great course in a beautiful area and well worth the short road trip.
