IRONMAN Triathlon Headed For Whistler

Lace up your runners and reserve your rooms, the legendary IRONMAN® triathlon is headed for Whistler. The outdoor sport Mecca was awarded the honour of hosting the race, set to be held Sunday, Aug. 25th, 2013, and already the town is gearing up for a monumental event. The race will start with a two-loop, 3.86-km swim of Alta Lake before the triathletes embark on a one-loop 180-km bike leg along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, into the Callaghan Valley and back through Whistler on their way north to Pemberton. The 42-km run will be held on the Valley Trail, with the finish line planned for Whistler Olympic Plaza. In other words: plenty of possibilities for a stunning view to cheer on the competitors.
